Jason & Abby: a great way to end 2025
Abby and Jason were married on December 21, 2025, in Warrenton, Virginia, and on paper it sounds simple: a winter courthouse wedding at the Old Courthouse. But like most good wedding days, the best parts didn’t show up on paper at all.
The courthouse itself was beautiful—quiet, historic, and full of character. There’s something grounding about getting married in a place that’s seen so many lives intersect over time. The ceremony was intimate and straightforward, exactly what Abby and Jason wanted. No excess, no performance—just a meaningful moment shared with the people closest to them.
But the real highlight of the day came afterward, when we stepped outside for couples portraits.
From the start, Abby and Jason were completely at ease with each other. They weren’t trying to “pose well” or think about how things might look later. They laughed easily, teased each other, and moved through the space like they forgot the camera was even there. At one point, they started cracking each other up so much that we had to pause just to let it play out—and those unplanned moments ended up being some of the strongest images of the day.
That kind of energy can’t be manufactured. You either have it, or you don’t. Abby and Jason clearly did.
What stood out most wasn’t just that they were fun (though they absolutely were), but that they trusted the process. They were willing to try things, to be a little silly, to let moments happen instead of controlling them. That openness made the portraits feel honest and alive—less like a formal photo session and more like two people enjoying a few quiet minutes together on an important day.
Winter weddings are often beautiful, and this one was no exception, but for me, the people involved are what make events special, and this event was truly that. It was our last wedding of 2025, and I can’t think of a better way to end the year.
